The Sanskrit word for the mind or instrument of thinking. 
According to Ayurveda, the body is a crystallization of the mind. So just as a weak agni (digestive fire) is at the root of all diseases, the mind is a major player in our overall health. Mental ama (toxins) and unresolved emotions are subject to manifesting as  disease in the physical body.
Just like any instrument, the mind needs to be tuned and well maintained in order to function efficiently. 

A healthy mind is the main objective of Ayurveda, Ayurveda believes that all physical imbalances begin in the mind. This is why it’s so important that we priories the wellness of our minds. To cultivate positive thoughts, to slow our minds down and drop into the heart piercing through the illusion with the light of our full presence and letting go of the pain we feel from believing the lies our minds are subject to telling us and to receive positive impressions through our five sense that nourish our mind with Sattvic (harmonious and pure impressions). 

Medhya is a concept in Ayurveda which implies wisdom or intelligence. Medhya therapies act as mental rejuvenatives and support mental health. They promote a mind that is strong, clear, and calm. 

Medhya Rasayanas are a group of medical plants known to improve memory, intelligence, and concentration. They also are known to nourish and regulate the nervous system.
